There is a clear need for new homes in the local area, and this is very much supported by local and regional planning policy.
The Peel Centre site has been identified by both Barnet Council and the Mayor of London as the centre piece of the regeneration of Colindale, forming a new neighbourhood at the heart of the area.
HOMES FOR EVERYONE, TO LAST A LIFETIME
We will be creating more than 500 family homes in the first phase of the development – comprising 2, 3 and 4 bedroom flats and houses as well as family duplex apartments. In fact, at least half of all the new homes will have two or more bedrooms.
We have taken a design-led approach to creating a masterplan for this site and believe it can accommodate around 2,900 extremely high-quality, well-proportioned homes of different sizes and tenures.
Our vision is to expand the neighbourhood, ensuring it offers something for everyone and is a place where every phase of life is represented. We will have flats fit for first-time buyers and single professionals, homes for young couples and houses for growing families. We have designed a scheme that responds to its residents’ needs, even as they change.
The homes will be a mix of market sale, market rent, affordable rent, shared ownership and low cost home ownership. While we do not intend to provide student accommodation on our site, we understand that there are options being considered for the redevelopment of a neighbouring site to deliver more student accommodation in Colindale.
